Leadership Coaching

Treat people as if they were what they ought to be and you help them to become what they are capable of being. – Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe

I remember 20 or so  years ago when my brother asked me to join them for a holiday weekend to the island and I said “Oh no, I can’t, my store NEEDS me”. He said  ”Huh! I thought you were a good manager”.

That hit me like a dart in my forehead.

What I didn’t understand until that moment was that a good manager is a good leader and a good leader DEVELOPS people.

If you are not constantly developing yourself and your team, your usefulness is subject to the law of diminishing returns. Your job as a leader is to enrich your environment and your team with opportunity. Opportunities are not limited to promotions; opportunities to grow oneself and one’s own capability is regarded the most rewarding factor in people’s work.

Could you use any support in these areas?

Handling difficult conversations? Sometimes we shy away from what needs to be said simply because we don’t have the tools to use compassionate directness in our communication.

Creating synergy among the team? The resilience factor and corporate edge is greatly influenced by how well the team has synergized. Learn how to promote and sustain team thinking within your group.

Feeling overwhelmed? Take control of your schedule and your life by setting clear priorities. Then, learn the art of delegation and become masterful at using the sexiest word in the English language – ‘no’
